Qingdao China Events

The Qingdao Ocean Festival takes place from the last week of June until well into July and the annual event aims to promote QingDao as a tourist-friendly coastal city. The Qing Dao China Wealth Forum, co-organized by the Information Office of the Qing Dao Government, is held every year on the second Sunday in July in Qingzhou City, the capital of Guangdong Province.

The Qingdao International Beer Festival in August is also extremely popular, attracting large crowds offering a variety of sights, activities and drinks, as well as food and beverages. This monthly event is always a firecracker and also free and open to everyone, and there is always great live music in several locations around the city. RedSTAR magazine and website are an indispensable guide to getting involved in QingDao, but they also bring fresh international talent to the city several times a year. They have weekly and monthly events where you can meet many people from China and overseas and they come from all over the country where the Dragon Boat Festival is held. And it's one of the most popular events in the world.

The 25th anniversary of the CFSE will still be held in Qingdao on the same day as last year, on 1 and 2 October, and is considered the equivalent of the Oktoberfest in Munich. Other major events held in this graceful city throughout the year include the annual China Beer Festival, the Great Wall Festival and the Chinese New Year Festival. This festival is a great opportunity to show off the unique features of the city and sample some of its most popular beers on your own. QingDao is the largest beer production base in China, so don't wait too long to find the ubiquitous local beer Tsingtao Beer.

The event centre is located in the new Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport and is being built by the state-owned Guoxin conglomerate, which is also heavily investing in fishing projects. Sea Fare Group, based in the United States, and the event is organized with the required permits from the Department of Commerce, the State Administration of Commerce and Industry. Qingdao's port is ranked 7th in the world and is home to one of the world's leading seafood brands, China Seafoods, China's largest seafood exporter.

Given the importance of trade and shipping, Qingdao has a huge foreign population, and each year many more foreigners come than tourists. A large part of the foreign community comes to QingDao to teach English, but most, including this writer, learn Chinese and experience it as a positive experience and move to more regular employment.

Participating in community events and supporting redSTAR is a great way to find new employment opportunities while you are in Qingdao. While the global fishing industry has been challenged more than ever by the Covid 19 crisis, there are hopeful signs in Qingdao. Although it will take a while, if ever, for the situation to fully return to normal, China remains a dynamic fish market with significant opportunities. Although QingDao has a growing service sector, most people working there have family ties in China.

As for the aggregation of resources in Qingdao, a number of entirely foreign asset management firms have emerged. The official "Chinese Organizing Authority" lists QingDao as one of the ten richest cities in the world, with an average annual income of more than $1 million.

As one of the most important festivals in China, it enjoys a good reputation worldwide and attracts millions of people every year. The slogan "Festival" is read again and again to indicate the extent of this event.
